I am very excited to be given the opportunity to work with such a talented and passionate staff about whom I have heard great things. I look forward to getting to know your children, families, church members and staff over the coming weeks and months and helping the students of Prince of Peace Preschool achieve success in our program. To give you some brief information about myself, my husband, Johnny, and I live in Topeka with our two sons, John Michael (13) and Jacob (11). The boys attend school in the Auburn-Washburn District and keep us busy with their athletic activities. Our oldest child, Katie, is currently pursuing her Masters Degree in Accounting at KSU. She is a diligent student with her studies but frequently makes time to return home to watch many of her brothers’ games. I love reading (aka listening to audio books), exercising and working with my husband in our yard.
Professionally, I have worked in the Topeka Public School district for ten years as a classroom teacher in the Head Start program. Prior to my tenure with USD 501, I was a classroom teacher for several years at Prince of Peace Preschool. As I have expressed many times, returning to POPP feels like “coming home”. Having worked previously with several current staff members and having remained close to the program and former families, I relish the opportunity to utilize my personal and professional experiences and knowledge to serve as Director. I see my role as one who supports our staff in collaboration with families in providing a high-quality education following HighScope principles.
I look forward to meeting each of you. Please stop by as my door is always open.
Blessings to you and yours,
Director of Prince of Peace Preschool
